단기선교여행의 십계명 
10 Rules for Mission

1. ‘To learn, not to help’
“You will always remember that the primary function of a short-term mission trip is to learn, and not to help.”
“단기 선교의 기본 취지는 도와 주러 가는것이 아니라, 배우러 가는것 입니다.’

2. ‘Respect their advice’
“You will always defer to the pastor or missionaries, even when you don’t agree with them.”
“현지 교역자나 선교사를 중심으로 따르십시요.”
비록 동의할 수 없는 그들의 주장이라도 단기 선교인들이 모르는 현지 사정이 있을 수 있으므로, 그들의 요청이나 충고를 존중해야 합니다.”

3. ‘Flexibility”
‘You will surely leave all your agendas at home before you arrive on the mission field.”
“자신들의 계획은 선교지에 맞게 기꺼이 포기할 수 있어야 합니다.”
모든것을 하나님께 맡기고, 어떤 경우에도 현지 선교사의 권위에 맞서지 마십시요.

4. ‘ Wait’
“You will be prepared to spend large amounts of time doing nothing, for thus verily is the way of the mission field.”
“준비해 간 많은것을 비록 하지 못해도 실망하지 마십시요.”
여러 프로젝트, 방문지, 예정된 약속의 갑작스런 취소, 다른 문화 차이로 인한 좌절을 갖지 말고, 준비한 것에 연연하지 말고 현장감을 파악하는것에 가치를 두십시요.

5. ‘Follow security rules’
“ You will be careful to obey, in all details, the security rules and advice of the project which you visit.”
“안전문제는 가장 직면하는 큰 문제입니다.”
지나치다거나 불 필요하다고 생각이 들어도 현지인들의 경험에서 나오는 살아남은 증거이기도 하기에 절대 안전에 대한 문제는 복종해야 함을 잊지 마십시요.

6. ‘Communication’
“Communicate with the team leader in all matters and be honest and transparent with your team members. In the mission field, misunderstandings can arise from small things.”
“모든일에 팀리더와 소통하고 주변에 있는 팀원들에게 진실하고 투명하게 소통하세요. 선교지에서는 작은일에서 오해가 생길수 있습니다.”

7. ‘Participation’
“Participate and approach everything proactively. We have prayed and prepared for this mission. Expect what God will do through me.

"모든 일에 적극적으로 임하세요. 우리는 이 선교를 위하여 기도하고 준비하였습니다. 하나님이 나를 통하여 하실 일을 기대하세요."

8. ‘Be wise in our giving.’
“You will take great care in your giving and your spending, so you don’t appeared to be filthy rich.”
“현명하게 베풀고 적절하게 사용해야 합니다.”
우리가 무조건 나누어 주는 것만이 좋은 것이 아닙니다. 너무 부유해 보이지 않도록 주는것과 가지고 있는것에 신중을 기해야합니다.

9. ‘Respect ministry model.’
“You will be careful to respect the doctrinal and theological views of the project which you visit.”
“교리가 맞지 않더라도 존중하십시요.”
방문할 선교지에 따라서는 잘 맞지 않는 교리도 있을 수 있지만, 방언이나 특정 기도 방법등에 대해 반감을 갖지 않으려고 하십시요.

10. ‘Keep the word and follow-up activities.’
“Be cautious when making promises to missionaries and local pastors. Once you return home, you might forget those promises. To ensure nothing is forgotten, make promises carefully, and if you make a promise, be sure to keep it”
“선교사님과 현지 목회자들에게 약속하는 것에 신중하세요. 집으로 돌아오면 그 약속을 잊을수도 있습니다. 잊혀졌다고 느껴지지 않도록 약속은 신중하게 하며 약속을 했다면 반드시 지켜야합니다."
